The Les Paul Standard has been the flagship model in the Gibson catalogue for the last seven decades. Over the years, it has seen several design changes, most noticeably in 1961 when it shifted to the radically different double-cut design that is now known as the SG. One thing that has always remained though, is its ability to transcend musical genres and shape sound across generations. The Les Paul Standard 50s Faded returns to the classic design that first made it relevant and loved, paying tribute to Gibson's golden era of innovation. Sporting a satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish, the Les Paul Standard 50s Faded has the look and feel of a well-loved vintage instrument. Built on the tried and tested foundation of a solid Mahogany body and AA figured Maple top, it is dynamic and resonant with sustain for days. The Mahogany neck has a rounded 50s-style profile, adding to the vintage feel, and is topped with a silky smooth Rosewood fingerboard. At the heart of the Les Paul is a set of double-black, open-coil Burstbucker pickups, with a Burstbucker 1 in the neck and Burstbucker 2 in the bridge. Other premium appointments include an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, vintage deluxe tuners, Orange Drop capacitors and a hardshell case.
