Description

Keeley Electronics have teamed up with YouTube pedal fanatics Dan Steinhardt and Mick Taylor of ‘That Pedal Show’ fame to create their very own stompbox - the D&M Drive! With the success of their YouTube channel bringing together players who just adore pedals, Keeley offered Dan and Mick the chance to design their very own signature pedal - and here it is! With the D&M Drive split into 2 sides, you get an extremely versatile overdrive circuit with a unique-sounding boost too - all in one unit. And the best part? They are completely independent. So you can use them individually or stack both sides together for a full and harmonically-rich tone. You even change the order of the circuits, for incredible tone-shaping possibilities! Two Pedals In One Keeley's D&M Drive is made up of two sides, with Dan’s circuit delivering the overdrive and Mick’s providing the boost. Each side has independent Gain, Level and Tone controls, ensuring that you can get the best out of each effect without compromising the other. The overdrive provides everything you’d want from a potent gain stage. It can range from moderate low-gain to incredibly hot distorted tones. Set the gain low for a crunchy rhythm sound to entice rich harmonics for chord-based riffing. Turn up the gain to achieve a gorgeous, saturated lead tone with amazing sustain and clarity. The D&M Drive's boost circuit has a unique voice of its own. Imagine Keeley’s renowned Katana Boost combined with a vintage germanium-style overdrive - that's the sound of Mick’s boost! With a huge amount of headroom available, you can achieve bold lead tones with its strong mid-range punch enabling your solos to cut through in a mix. Stack Your Overdrives Stacking overdrives is a subject that Mick and Dan have covered frequently on 'That Pedal Show'. This is where you essentially run overdrive/distortion units into one another, to achieve a richer cascading tone with more saturation. This is why Keeley designed their signature pedal this way, so you can run the two sides together and even change the order – so boost before overdrive, or overdrive before boost. This simply gives you access to more tonal options and enhances versatility. You can experiment with your sound and get a great tone no matter what. Ingenious Switching Capabilities Another cool feature of the D&M Drive is its switching capabilities. Daniel Steinhardt made his name designing the innovative GigRig pedal switching systems, and with some dual-style stompboxes you can't split their two sides when running them into the loop of a switcher unit. However, Keeley made sure that the D&M Drive has TRS insert cables, meaning that you're able to configure the D&M Drive to act as 2 standalone pedals. Talk about flexible!
