Description

Building on the success of their acclaimed American Vintage and Original ranges, Fender's revamped American Vintage II Series takes things up a notch! Comprising dozens of remarkably precise recreations of timeless Fender designs, these guitars are built with period-accurate bodies, necks and hardware, premium finishes, and meticulously-voiced, year-specific pickups. The American Vintage II Series painstakingly pays tribute to the revolutionary instruments that altered the course of popular music forever, with each model capturing the essence of authentic Fender craftsmanship and tone. The Telecaster Thinline first debuted in 1968, and its unique semi-hollow design was created as a means for Fender to produce light instruments from heavy Ash. Reimagined in late '71 around a pair of Wide-Range humbuckers mounted to a reshaped curvy pearloid pickguard, the souped-up second-generation Tele Thinline had its first full year of production in 1972. Notably, it was Fender's first six-string with humbucking pickups and the first Tele with six adjustable bridge saddles. The American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster Thinline reproduces the quintessential tone and feel of the original, down to every detail! Featuring a "C"-shaped Maple neck, the American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster Thinline offers exceptional playing comfort with a traditional 7.25"-radius fingerboard and vintage tall frets. To create authentic Wide-Range humbuckers, Fender resurrected CuNiFe magnets — an essential element in recreating the sonics of the originals. Characteristic of production in '72, this Thinline is outfitted with a convenient "Bullet" style truss rod, 3-bolt neck plate with Micro-Tilt mechanism, "F"-stamped tuners and a 6-saddle string-through body hardtail with bent steel saddles. Key Features Wide-Range CuNiFe Pickups — Deliver rich bell-like humbucking tones with full bass and clear treble; offering "hi-fi" clarity yet never losing their attack and definition, no matter how hard they're pushed! 3-Bolt Neck Plate with Micro-Tilt — The CBS era is famously infamous for tinkering with Leo Fender's formulas, with the 3-bolt neck joint a hallmark of '70s Fender instruments. The Micro-Tilt mechanism allows you to easily tweak the angle of the neck in relation of the guitar's body, to achieve optimal string action. "C"-Shaped Maple Neck — A slim, period-correct neck profile that's synonymous with '70s Fenders. It plays like a dream! Bone Nut — Traditional, low-friction material minimises unwanted tuning slips. 6-Saddle String-Through-Body Hardtail Bridge — Individual saddles allow for precise action and intonation adjustment, with string-through design yielding increased sustain. A chrome bridge cover is included, if you love that retro aesthetic! Vintage-Style Case — A rugged black hard case is included, offering excellent protection. It features a bright orange interior too! Made in Corona, California — All American Vintage II guitars are constructed in Fender's main California factory; the beating heart of Fender craftsmanship.
