Specifications

The B&G Little Sister Crossroads Humbuckers Cutaway Midnight Ocean is a high-quality, vintage-inspired electric guitar that merges classic design with modern playability. This model is crafted by B&G Guitars, known for their meticulous attention to detail and traditional build methods, and is part of their Crossroads series—a more accessible version of their Private Build line.

Detailed Specifications:

  • Body Type: Semi-Hollow, with a chambered body for added resonance and lightweight playability. This model features a single cutaway, which allows for easier access to the higher frets.
  • Top Wood: Maple. The top is adorned with a stunning Midnight Ocean finish, a deep, shimmering blue hue that evokes a sense of depth and elegance. It’s highly polished for a glossy appearance.
  • Back and Sides: Made from African Mahogany, providing warmth and a balanced tonal response. The mahogany adds to the guitar’s resonance and sustain.
  • Neck: Constructed from Mahogany, with a Soft V profile that is comfortable for both chording and lead work. The neck is sturdy yet lightweight, contributing to the guitar's overall playability.
  • Scale Length: 24 ¾" (629 mm), a shorter scale which offers a more vintage feel, with slightly reduced string tension, making bends easier and providing a warm tone.
  • Fingerboard: The fingerboard is made from Indian Rosewood, featuring a smooth surface and medium-sized frets. It has a 12” radius, allowing for both comfortable chord playing and smooth soloing.
  • Frets: 20 Medium Jumbo frets, hand-finished for smooth play across the neck.
  • Pickups: Equipped with a pair of B&G-designed humbuckers, offering a warm, full-bodied sound. These pickups provide versatility, delivering both classic PAF-style tones and modern clarity. The humbuckers are voiced to produce a wide range of sounds, from clean, articulate tones to rich, overdriven textures.
  • Bridge: B&G’s solid brass bridge. The bridge is designed to enhance sustain and tuning stability, while the brass material adds a slight brightness and clarity to the guitar’s tone.
  • Tuners: Vintage-style Kluson tuners with an aged look. They offer smooth, accurate tuning and hold pitch very well.
  • Controls: Two volume and two tone knobs, each with hand-wired, low-tolerance pots for precision control. There’s also a 3-way pickup selector switch, allowing you to toggle between the neck, bridge, or a combination of both pickups.
  • Nut: Bone nut, meticulously cut to provide accurate intonation and reduce string friction.
  • Finish: The guitar is finished in Midnight Ocean, a stunning blue color that appears to shift in tone depending on lighting conditions. The high-gloss finish not only looks luxurious but also protects the wood.
  • Weight: Approximately 7 lbs (3.2 kg), making it relatively light for a semi-hollow guitar, easy to handle and comfortable for long playing sessions.
  • Case: Comes with a high-quality gig bag, featuring reinforced protection and ample storage for accessories.

Tonal Characteristics:

The combination of mahogany and maple woods, along with humbucker pickups, gives the B&G Little Sister Crossroads Cutaway a rich, warm tone with a wide frequency range. It’s versatile enough to handle genres ranging from blues and jazz to rock and country. The semi-hollow body enhances its resonance, providing a natural reverb effect, while the brass bridge and bone nut ensure clear articulation and sustain.

This guitar is a perfect blend of vintage aesthetics and modern performance, ideal for guitarists looking for a versatile instrument with both visual and tonal appeal.

Description

B&G Little Sister Crossroads Humbucker Midnight Ocean Cutaway After B&G had great success with the Little Sister, they decided to release a new model: the Little Sister Crossroads. They decided to establish production in China, which gives a new classic B&G model a slightly more pleasant price. B&G resides in Tel Aviv, Israel. From there they use special, exotic wood to build the best guitars by hand. This applies to the bodies, self-mixing of the paint, nitro lacquer and glue and the hand-wound pickups. Much is done by hand by the company and that is reflected in the professional finish. The Little Sister Crossroads is available in different variants, but it is finished with a Midnight Ocean finish, cutaway and humbuckers. These humbuckers are a special B&G design. The body and neck are made of African mahogany with a Midnight Ocean finish. The fingerboard is from Katalox, a Mexican ebony. The top is made of solid maple. Including gig bag.
